Conference Schedule released & Tours

Your will find a link on the menu to the schedule for the conference. It is draft at this stage, so there may be fine tuning, but we have a great selection of speakers. There may be a couple of openings for people to join the roundtable discussions, if so email david@iccm-asia.org.

Tours

Some people have to wait until the Friday for flights, so there is an opportunity to join a half day tour on the Thursday afternoon. If you want to participate, then select that option (at no cost at the moment) when you register. We will worry about selecting the actual tour and costs etc at the conference.

Drasticom VSAT Installer Course prior to ICCM-Asia CANCELLED

Drasticom was planning on running a VSAT Installer course prior to the conference, however this will not be possible due to licensing issues.

We apologise for any inconvenience. However Drasticom will have a representative at the conference.

For details on what the course would have been visit http://www.drasticom.org/Downloads/DRASTIC_VSAT_Installer_course.pdf

Speakers and Topics

This conference is a community event. We don't have big name speakers - the speakers are people just like you, do work, just like you. So you can be one if you have something to share.

Some people have offered to give talks in the following areas (not all may occur due to scheduling issues):

  • Chris plans to speak on Information Security
  • The team from Drastic may speak on some or all of the following
  • Communications for disaster relief, based on out experiences in the Sumatra Tsunami
  • How to use VSAT cost-effectively
  • Business as opportunities: profitable internet café based models
  • Vaughan is willing to share his experience on open source firewalls on a panel (want to join him???)
  • The guys from SIL in Singapore will share on either
  • Running an office on Open Source Software, or
  • Using Open Source Software for community development.
  • Vijay from Olive Technology will speak on offshore outsouring or IE from their experiences in India.

As you can see the program is coming together well, and it should be an interesting conference. If you would like to contribute as a speaker, then email david@iccm-asia.org.

Keep watching the web site, and the email list for updates as we finalise these details.
